Summer 2026 with Cynon Valley PALSWhat a summer it has been. 🔆 Over the summer holidays, Cynon Valley PALS has been busy providing a whole range of fun, inclusive activities for children with disabilities and their families. From days out and adventures to swimming, farm parks, cycling, soft play, outdoor activities, a boat ride and lots more. We also enjoyed a residential weekend at Llangrannog where we got to take take part in so many activities including skiing, the zip wire, tobogganing, swimming, go karts, jump pillow, quad bikes and archery. We’ve loved seeing so many families enjoying themselves together. For many of our children, the summer holidays can bring a big change to their usual routines. School finishes, familiar faces and structures disappear, and weeks of unplanned time can sometimes feel overwhelming. Having regular activities to look forward to can provide a sense of routine, familiarity and reassurance, while giving children the opportunity to enjoy themselves in an environment where they feel comfortable and included. And it’s not just the children who benefit. The summer holidays can be a challenging time for their families too. Our activities give parents and carers the chance to meet other families who understand, build friendships, share experiences and, most importantly, feel part of a supportive community. We are incredibly proud that Cynon Valley PALS can provide these opportunities. Every booking, every activity and every new experience is made possible because of the amazing support we receive from our volunteers, funders, supporters and the community. We had a great last full week of the summer holidays.It’s been busy and the rain didn't dampen our fun. 🏊 **Saturday** Swimming fun at Lido Ponty 🤽 **Sunday** We had great fun on the inflatables in the swimming pool at Aberfan Community Centre 🐑 **Monday** We visited Amelia Trust Farm and enjoyed seeing the animals🏊🚲 **Tuesday** Family swimming at Sobell Leisure Centre followed by cycling fun with Cwm Cycling Aberdare and ice-cream at Ynysviewcafe 🎈 **Wednesday** We enjoyed playing and climbing at Dragons Den Soft Play 🌳 **Thursday** Some of our families went on a scavenger hunt around Parc Gwledig Cwm Dâr / Dare Valley Country Park followed by an ice cream at Caffi cwtsh 🍦 **Friday** More of our families enjoyed exploring Dare Valley Country Park and a visit to Cwtch Cafe. 🥧 Our Mini Chefs have impressed us with their star bakes this week. It’s been a lovely six weeks of making memories and spending relaxed time together with no pressure. Thanks to Community Foundation Wales Nourish the Nation Fund, PALS London Marathon 2026 Runners, PALS 31st Birthday Challenge Fundraisers and the Blaengwawr Raffle for funding our events. Another fantastic week with Cynon Valley PALS. We’ve had another busy week packed with fun and adventures. 🏊 **Saturday** Swimming fun at Lido Ponty ⛴️ **Sunday** A lovely boat trip on the Copper Jack Tawe River Cruises complete with refreshments on board🏅 **Monday** Multisports fun at The Ynys with Chwaraeon RHCT / Sport RCT 🏊🚲 **Tuesday** Family swimming at Sobell Leisure Centre followed by cycling fun with Cwm Cycling Aberdare and ice-cream at Ynysviewcafe 🎈 **Wednesday** Food and fun at Dragons Den Soft Play 🐑 **Thursday** A wonderful visit to Amelia Trust Farm in Cardiff🥓 **Friday** We started the day with breakfast at Brewers Fayre Aberdare before heading to Mountain View Ranch in Caerphilly for an evening following the Gruffalo Trail 🌳🦉🥧 Our Mini Chefs have been baking and making lovely treatsIt’s been lovely seeing so many of our PALS families enjoying time together and making memories. Another week of summer fun with Cynon Valley PALS. It’s been another busy week filled with activities, adventures and plenty of opportunities for our families to spend time together.🏊 **Saturday** started with swimming at Lido Ponty, while another group enjoyed an amazing surfing session with Surfability UK CIC at Caswell Bay. 🚂 **Sunday** brought a surprise trip to Cyfarthfa Park, where families enjoyed a ride on the Cyfarthfa Miniature Railway, ice creams and feeding the ducks.🏅 **Monday** was all about getting active with multisports at the Ynys, Aberdare, thanks to Chwaraeon RHCT / Sport RCT.🎬**Tuesday** was a busy one. Families enjoyed swimming at Sobell Leisure Centre, cycling with Cwm Cycling Aberdare and a trip to the Theatr Y Colisëwm, Aberdâr / Coliseum Theatre, Aberdare to watch Moana. 🛝 **Wednesday** was all about fun and play at Dragons Den Soft Play.🥞 **Friday** started with a family breakfast and play at Brewers Fayre Aberdare, followed by an evening of fun at Colliers Adventure Farm.🥧 Our Mini Chefs have been picking fruit and using it to make some lovely deserts. Thanks to Community Foundation Wales Nourish the Nation Fund, PALS London Marathon 2026 Runners, PALS 31st Birthday Challenge Fundraisers and the Blaengwawr Raffle for funding our events. We would like to say a huge Thank You to Cyfarthfa Miniature Railway, Merthyr Tydfil. for a lovely day out with Cynon Valley PALS. Our families enjoyed a day in Cyfarthfa Patk with a ride on the train, a tasty ice cream and the chance to feed the ducks. Everyone had a lovely time in the sunshine, exploring and enjoying some family fun together.Thank you for kindly donating the duck food and for our ice-creams too, it was very much appreciated.
